About Us

Bar Nøe is a 30-seat restaurant in Barcelona where Nordic flavors blend with Japanese influences and the richness of Catalan produce to create bold, unexpected combinations.

The food is served as small plates, or a €39 tasting menu, paired with natural wines, craft cocktails, nordic ciders and Japanese beers. The space is minimalist and intimate- serious in the kitchen, but relaxed and welcoming in the dining room.

Opened in 2023, Bar Nøe was created as a place where dining feels both elevated and approachable. The name Noé carries the spirit of gathering and inclusion: Bar Nøe is a restaurant where everyone has a seat at the table.

The guiding principle is simple: focus on flavor, respect the ingredients, and strip away unnecessary pretension.

Bar Nøe stands apart in a city defined by its two extremes: the ubiquity of casual tapas bars and the spectacle of high-end fine dining. It carves out a different space: intimate, creative, and rooted in bold flavors without the formality.

Coverage in La Vanguardia, National Geographic, and Barcelona’s food press has marked it as one of the city’s most distinctive new restaurants.

Our Team

Björn Küssner – Head Chef / Co-Owner

Born in northern Germany into a hospitality family, Björn trained in Germany’s apprenticeship system and has worked in Michelin-starred kitchens across Switzerland, New Zealand, Australia, and Germany, including multiple top 50 restaurants, including Attica (Australia), Oud Sluis (Netherlands), & Aqua (Germany). Mentors like Ralf Haug (early Noma) and Mitch Bates (Momofuku Toronto) shaped his philosophy: Nordic foundations, Japanese precision, and Catalan produce, combined with a focus on flavor over presentation. At Bar Nøe, he brings together global technique and local product in a style he describes simply as creative cooking.

Andrea Scacco – Bar Director / Co-Owner

Originally from Padua, Andrea built his career across Italy, Spain, and Australia. After managing large-scale events and bar teams in Italy, he joined Caffè Diemme, where he developed signature cocktail menus and directed the company’s flagship bar-restaurant. In 2014, he moved to Perth, working at venues including The Laneway Lounge — where his cocktail menu helped the bar win Best Late Night Cocktail Bar of Western Australia. Returning to Europe, he became a driving force in Barcelona’s cocktail scene, opening Old Fashioned, Nola, and Gangster’s Paradise, and collaborating on spirit brands such as Spirito delle Dolomiti, Not Another Vermouth, and Murtago Bitter. At Bar Nøe, Andrea leads the front of house and drinks programs.

Kiya Alexis – Sous-Chef / Co-Owner

Toronto-born with Caribbean roots, Kiya grew up with her father’s Grenadian cooking, her mother’s baking, and family dinner parties that inspired her love of hospitality. She trained with Soho House in London, apprenticed in Mexico City, and created sustainable menus for pop-up in Toronto and Los Angeles. In Barcelona, she studied at the Culinary Institute of Barcelona (CIB), then interned at Compartir, sister restaurant to 3 Michelin-starred Disfrutar. After first discovering Bar Nøe as a guest, she joined the kitchen and soon became an official partner. Today, she brings freshness, global perspective, and instinctive hospitality to the team.
